THE MISSION
The Builder Times is an independent business publication founded in Davao City in 2026. It covers the people and the companies building things in the Philippines — restaurants, hotels, manufacturing, technology, hospitality, the long tail of the real economy. Every story starts with a visit, a meal, or a long conversation.
The country has plenty of business news. What it has less of is reporting that takes a small operator as seriously as a conglomerate. The Filipinos building things — the restaurant owner in Davao, the hotelier in Siargao, the software founder in Cebu — are doing some of the most consequential work in the country. They are also some of the least covered. We are here to change that.
We report from seven regions: Davao, Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, Siargao, Boracay, Palawan, and El Nido. We expand when a story is good enough to need it. The publication is read in English. The kitchen is in Davao.

We are interested in how something gets made. The opening, the line cook, the unit count — not the funding announcement.

Each piece is written and edited by people who actually visited the business. AI is a tool in the kitchen, never a byline.

On the ground.
We are a Davao publication. We travel to the story. The kitchen is here; the reporting happens out there.
